Victoria Island After Rain is Lagos seen the way Lagos rarely allows itself to be seen, momentarily still, the wet streets holding the city’s tower lights in reflection, the sky above saturated to deep magenta-violet. A male figure stands on the rain-soaked street, looking upward at the skyline he and his kinsmen inherited and are still building. Beneath his feet, the puddles reflect not his contemporary self but one of his ancestors who stood on this same ground before the glass towers arrived. A Giclée print on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag, this mixed media Nigerian painting is limited to just 20 prints worldwide. Bold enough for a hotel lobby, layered enough for a private collection, it is the kind of framed art that rewards every second look. Available at Naija Art Store.
