Ulo Nna, meaning Father’s House, seats a male figure on a low stool at the exact centre of a pale ash grey frame, both hands resting on his knees, face directed at the camera in the posture of a man sitting in his own compound, completely at ease and entirely in authority. He wears everyday Igbo dress, a clean isiagu tunic and plain trousers, nothing ceremonial. Around his stool on the floor, a miniature architectural plan of an Igbo family compound glows in white lines, the entrance, the obi hall, the cooking space, the sleeping quarters, a blueprint of the home traced around him with his stool at its centre. This grounded mixed media fine art print is Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag and limited to just 20 prints worldwide. A deeply personal Nigerian painting about domestic identity and belonging, available at Naija Art Store.
