The Sun Bear No Witness stands a tall male figure at the exact centre of a blazing cadmium yellow frame, face turned three-quarters upward toward the right in the direction of the sun, arms slightly raised and outward with palms forward in the posture of someone who has decided to receive the full weight of the light without shielding. He wears a white linen ceremonial wrap with gold Yoruba embroidery at the borders, and no headwear at all, the bare oily-black head the crown. His shadow on the yellow background falls not behind him but in front, arriving before the body, cast by a sun that is behind the viewer, not above. This striking mixed media African painting is Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag, limited to just 20 prints worldwide. A bold piece of fine art available exclusively at Naija Art Store.
