- Medium

The Night the Babalawo Dreamed reclines a male Ifa priest in full babalawo attire, one hand pressed to the side of his bowed head in the posture between sleep and reception, the body suspended in the threshold between the conscious and the received. From the side of his head where his hand rests, 16 Ifa palm nuts orbit slowly at temple height, each glowing faintly, the divination happening inside the dream, the oracle active before the waking practitioner has begun to work. This is a one of one original piece, the only work of its kind in the world, a mixed media fine art work of photography and digital art, Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag. A deeply atmospheric Nigerian painting about the Ifa tradition, dreams, and the knowledge that arrives before you are ready for it. Available at Naija Art Store.
