Osun River is set within the sacred Osun Grove in Osogbo, the UNESCO World Heritage Site and home of the Osun deity, a female devotee standing knee-deep in the river in yellow iro and buba that floats around her in the current. She holds a large brass mirror above the water’s surface with both hands, facing it downward toward the river as if showing the water its own face. From our viewing angle, the mirror holds not the river’s reflection but a bright open sky, as if the mirror carries the sky inside it while being held over the water. This spiritually luminous mixed media African painting is Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag, limited to just 20 prints worldwide. A reverent and visually extraordinary piece of fine art, available exclusively at Naija Art Store.
