Oshun’s Mirror seats a young woman in perfect profile in a liquid gold frame, dressed in flowing Oshun yellow-gold iro and buba with amber bead strands at neck and wrist, holding a round brass hand mirror at chest height with its face turned toward the camera rather than toward herself. In the circular face of the mirror being held out toward us, a small bright river scene is fully visible, green water moving, a fish visible, light dancing on the surface, a complete tiny world held in the palm of a hand and offered outward.
