Oro Night places the Oro masquerade, which moves only in darkness, in an absolute midnight black frame where only the white skull paint on the charcoal face and the gold trim on the deep indigo costume provide any contrast against the dark. One arm is raised above the head, gripping the traditional bull-roarer, the body caught mid-turn in the act of swinging it. But the turn is stopped. The sound has not yet been made. From the raised bull-roarer, concentric circles radiate outward not as light but as ripples in the black background itself, the surface of darkness disturbed by a sound that exists before its cause. This is a one of one original piece, the only work of its kind in the world, a mixed media fine art work of photography and digital art, Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag. A hauntingly precise Nigerian painting available at Naija Art Store.
