Oltau presents a lone Maasai Moran in perfect side silhouette at the end of the herding day, standing with a long staff planted diagonally and one hand raised to shade his gaze into the amber-red distance. His red shuka catches the dusk light. Where the staff is planted in the earth at his feet, roots emerge from its base and spread across the floor, the herding staff taking root and becoming a tree from the bottom up while he still holds its former top. This is a one of one original piece, the only work of its kind in the world, a mixed media fine art work of photography and digital art, Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag. A contemplative and visually beautiful African painting about the bond between man, land, and the tools that eventually become part of both. Available at Naija Art Store.
