Olókun’s Floor draws from the Yoruba deity of the deep ocean and its association with unfathomable wealth, presenting a male figure lying face-down on the floor in the full Yoruba prostration greeting, arms extended forward above the head, body completely horizontal. His deep teal agbada spreads around him on the floor like fins or coral. Around his outstretched hands on the floor, objects from the ocean bottom materialise and glow softly, a pearl, a gold coin, a shell, a fragment of coral, as if the floor is the ocean bed and he has reached it in his deepest bow.
