Ogene Sings stands a young female figure with one arm raised and extended sideways, hand gripping a large traditional Igbo ogene bronze bell held at shoulder height in the posture of a musician between strikes, the bell raised and not yet rung. She wears Igbo akwete woven fabric in deep rust and black. Around the bell that has not yet been struck, concentric rings of visible sound radiate outward as if the bell rings before it is hit, the sound arriving before its cause, music preceding the action that makes it. This is a one of one original piece, the only work of its kind anywhere in the world, a mixed media fine art work of photography and digital art, Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag. A dynamic and culturally precise Nigerian painting about sound, craft, and the moment before creation. Available at Naija Art Store.
