Mother and Ocean places a mother and her teenage daughter side by side against a deep ocean teal background, the mother’s arm around the daughter’s shoulder in a hold that is loose and open-fingered, the daughter’s body already leaning subtly forward and away into whatever she is becoming. The mother faces us. The daughter faces her future. From the mother’s other hand, the one hanging free at her side, water pours slowly to the floor, not from a vessel but from the palm itself. This luminous mixed media African painting is Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag and limited to just 20 prints in the entire world. One of the most emotionally precise works in the Naija Art Store collection, it is a fine art piece that resonates with mothers, daughters, and anyone who has loved someone into their own independence.
