Ẹ̀ṣù’s Crossroads draws from the Yoruba deity of the crossroads and divine messenger, splitting the frame diagonally from top left to bottom right in absolute black on one side and absolute white on the other. A male figure stands precisely at the diagonal dividing line with one half of his body in black territory and the other in white, his dress divided accordingly, one arm pointing left into the black, one pointing right into the white. At the exact point where the diagonal line meets his body at the sternum, a small red flame burns, steady and still, the point of choice marked in the only colour that exists outside the binary.
