Eluku Comes brings the Ibibio wild bush spirit masquerade into the frame in a dramatic forward lean, torso bent at 45 degrees toward the camera, both arms spread wide and slightly downward from the shoulders with fingers spread, the posture of something enormous leaning into your space without crossing the line. The dense raffia costume of the Eluku is covered in fresh young ferns and green leaves growing outward from it, the masquerade so long in the forest that the forest has begun growing from it.
