Ẹgbẹ Ikú, meaning Company of Death, gathers four male figures in a loose and entirely casual grouping against a warm terracotta frame, all in simple everyday Nigerian work clothes, none in ceremony. One leans against an invisible wall with arms folded. One stands with hands in pockets. One sits on the floor with knees drawn up. One crouches. All four carry skull paint in terracotta, nearly invisible against their skin tone, the death-marking worn so quietly it barely announces itself. Between them at chest height, a single candle flame burns with no candle beneath it, attended by no one and belonging to all of them. This understated mixed media fine art print is Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag, limited to just 20 prints worldwide. A work of fine art about the people for whom death is simply a colleague.
