Children of the Same Drum places six young figures from different West African cultural backgrounds across a wide sunshine yellow frame, each responding differently to the same unheard music. One plays a drum, one dances, one claps, one spins, one absorbs the sound with eyes closed, one stands perfectly still but moved to the bone. Across the upper width of the composition, thin gold sound waves radiate from the drummer’s instrument and visibly reach each figure in turn, the causality of music made visible. This vibrant mixed media African painting is Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag, one of only 20 prints in existence worldwide. A joyful and culturally rich piece of fine art that works beautifully as home decor in any space that wants to feel alive.
