Akwete Woven seats a female weaver with both arms extended forward at the height of an invisible loom, fingers spread in the posture of threading weft across warp, her body in the familiar lean of someone deep in their craft. She wears an akwete cloth wrapper, the cloth she makes worn on her body. Between her two extended hands in the space of the invisible loom, the cloth forms in the air, an akwete pattern materialising from nothing between her palms, growing row by row as her hands work an empty surface. This visually extraordinary mixed media African painting is Giclée printed on museum quality 310gsm Textured Fine Art Cotton Rag and limited to just 20 prints worldwide. A celebration of Igbo weaving tradition and female craft mastery, this fine art piece is available at Naija Art Store for collectors who understand that skill is also a form of the sacred.
